Pulling Up.....

It seems as if Megs is doing something new every day. She has started army crawling all over the place and today she decided she would try pulling herself up on her toy basket.....

She rocked back and forth on her feet for a while.....

Then decided to pull up a little more and take a peek inside. Ahhhhhhhhh....more toys!

Now all she has to do is figure out how to pull something out without falling over.....

Megs First UH Football Game.....

We all dressed in our UH attire in preparation for today's game. Megs looked especially cute courtesy of the new outfit grandma bought her! When we arrived at the stadium, Meghan was still sleeping so daddy and I went inside while mommy waited in the car for her to wake up. Once inside, we realized it would be way too hot for Megs so daddy called mommy and told her to just wait in the air conditioned car until half time..... Mommy let Megs sit in the front seat when she woke up....

Lil' coog!

Doesn't she look so excited?

Sitting quietly on daddy's knee....

just taking it all in.....

Megs really loved the band!!

I liked giving dad high fives for touch downs.....

One last picture with mommy before heading home. Its not really noticeable in the photo but I had given myself a huge hickey around my lips by sucking on a bottle of water....

Shopping With Mommy....

This morning mommy and I dropped brother off at school, then headed to run a few errands. We walked the isles of a few stores together and then decided to head to the mall to meet Aunt Angela and Madalynn before it was time to pick up Matthew. I decided I did not want to go back into my car seat so mommy let me sit in the front with my baby for a few minutes. I mean really....who could say "no" to this face???

At the mall we borrowed Aunt Angelas umbrella stroller. This was a first and I was happy to be sitting up like a big girl, but only for a little while. I prefer mommy's arms over a stroller any day!

Fun Art Project....

Mommy and I had fun creating an x-ray of my arm today!

It was super easy too. We took a black piece of construction paper and traced my hand and part of my arm onto it. Then we glued white q-tips on each finger and and two along the arm to represent bones. After the project was complete we talked about the bones in our body and learned the names of the ones in our arms. Hmmm....what else can we make x-rays of??

Sleeping Beauty!

Daddy quietly snapped a couple of pictures of me sleeping this afternoon. I do not like to sleep when we are out and about. I would much rather wait until I am cozily in my own bed which is exactly what I did today. Nap time finally came around 3pm so needless to say I was exhausted!

Mommy and daddy are still working to figure out my sleeping arrangements. I am currently still in my crib but do not like to sleep directly on the mattress. Instead I prefer the changing pad in my crib for me to sleep on which is why you see a piece of the white strap sticking out from under neath it. When I am really tired, like today, I roll and hang one side of my body off the pad. Mommy and daddy watch me do this on the monitor and quickly turn me back to my side. Today I refused to stay on my side and every time they turned me I would be back on my tummy before they were out of the room. Without the pad in the crib I roll from one end of the bed to the other talking and playing and if I do fall asleep this way it is very short term because once I attempt to change positions I wake myself back up. So, for now the pad wins!

Little Warrior!

Armed with inspiration from my friend Sam and his love for body paint, I decided to give it a try this afternoon. I began by painting "my blood". I have been looking at lots of books about the human body lately and am fascinated by veins, arteries, bones, ect.....

Then I decided to paint my heart (no explanation as to why I chose black).....

Still painting my heart....

What can I say.... I have a big heart!

Megs happily watched me making a mess!

It hadn't occurred to me that I might be allowed to paint my face. Once mommy suggested it I cautiously placed the brush on my forehead....

How do I look?

Concentrating on painting my fingers....

Megs decided she would chew on one of the clean paint brushes while continuing to quietly watch...

I couldn't neglect the toes....

At this point I caught a glimpse of my face in the reflection of the glass on the back door and decided I was a warrior....

After a little more paint....

I ran around the yard yelling and doing the "warrior dance". I even climbed inside of the swimming pool to paint the bottom of it and make it fit for a warrior to swim in!

Then it was time to get cleaned up with a bath in the pool.....

Can we do this again tomorrow?

First Toes In Grass....

Grandma stopped by for a visit this afternoon. We were all hanging out in the back yard getting ready to swim a little when mommy decided Megs should feel the grass between her little toes for the first time. She is getting bigger and likes to practice standing so it just seemed like the right time....

Megs wiggled her toes, smiled and really seemed to enjoy the grass....

She really liked helping me fill the cup with water.....

and going down the slide.....

Back and Forth.....

Although she has been doing this for some time now, we never tire of watching Meghan pass the ball back and forth between her little hands. Apparently she never tires of it either because this went on for quite a while!

Megs 6 Month Appointment!

Megs had her 6 month appointment with the pediatrician today. She is now 26 1/2 inches long (67%), and 15 lbs 7 oz (30%). We thought she had a little cold but Dr. Thomas says she can tell from examination of Megs nose that it is allergies and prescribed Zyrtec to be taken before bed. Megs is sitting up very well now. She likes to transfer things back and forth in her hands while playing and loves to splash the water around in her bath tub. She babbles a lot saying "Ba, Ba, Ba" which sounds like bubba......

As for the red eye.....It was an accident! Brother threw a tube of diaper rash cream and the corner of it caught my little eye. The doctor said it would be fine just a little conjuctival hemorrhage that will clear up in a few days....
