Goodbye 2007!!!

Mommy and I spent the last day of 2007 at the zoo. We met Aunt Dian, Uncle Anthony and Keira there. I loved watching the big fish swimming in the aquarium and the rhinoceros who came running up to the fence to drink from a puddle. We had dressed for cooler weather, but it was unseasonably warm here in San Antonio today! Mommy had to remove my jacket and push my sleeves up. We didn't stay very long because even the animals were hiding from the heat of the mid-day sun.

Mommy thought it would be fun to ride the train before leaving......Yeah, my first train ride! I had a great time watching the people wave at us as we drove by. The conductor told all of the children to scream as we approached the tunnel to scare off any wild animals that might be hiding in it. Mommy covered my ears and as we exited on the other side, was laughing at the face I was making. I had been biting my bottom lip and my eyes were as big as saucers! Overall, the ride was very relaxing and I was ready for a long nap by the time we got back to the truck. We went to dinner and then I decided to end the year with a BANG!!! I started crawling!! Yep, you read that correctly....CRAWLING! Daddy videoed me and put a clip on the blog so everyone could see.....Check me out!!!

Mommy Wow, I'm A Big Boy Now.........

It was a chilly morning here in San Antonio! We waited until almost noon to venture outdoors. Mommy and daddy decided to do a little shopping and dressed me in one of my new outfits. My vest was very warm and I actually kept my shoes on today, which was a surprise for my parents. Mommy thought I looked so grown up. She wanted to take a picture and I wanted to show off a little. Daddy was holding me up and then letting go to see how long I could stand on my own.

Well, at least for a few seconds .

I continued to act like a big boy and when we went to a restaurant to have lunch I decided that my sippy cup wasn't good enough to drink out of today. I wanted to drink from a big cup like mommy and daddy. Daddy could tell I was getting frustrated so he went to the front and brought back a kids cup with my own straw. Mommy laughed at the notion that I would know what to do with a straw, but boy did I surprise her! I sucked my water right up and gleefully watched the amazed expression plastered across my parents faces. Hmmm.......what will I do next? Since the sun was shining and it had warmed up a little, we ended out the day with a walk.

One of my Christmas gifts from daddy was a new walker. He thinks I need it to help build strength in my legs even though I am trying to stand up on my own. Mommy took me out on the porch this afternoon to give it a try. When I realized how easily I could move around on the concrete I got very excited! I was off.....just in the wrong direction! I would move myself backwards until I hit the wall and mommy would pull me forward once again. Oh well, practice makes perfect so I am sure to get it right eventually:)

T'was The Day Before Christmas....

Mommy, Daddy and I woke up early today to spend Christmas Eve with the Daddy's family. We stopped by to see Ali first and exchange presents.

Aunt Ali bought me my own medical kit! Now I can be just like my dad.

We were the first ones to arrive at Gramary and PaPa's so I decided to take me cousin Andrew's new convertible for a test drive.....

Gramary and Papa bought me a motorcycle....Oh what fun it is to ride!

We finished the day by attending Uncle Patrick and Aunt Moniques church. The children dressed up and acted out the story of Jesus birth. There was a beautifully decorated tree in the foyer which posed a perfect opportunity for a family photo.

Houston For The Holidays......

We arrived in Houston Saturday night to spend the holidays with family and friends. Sunday morning, while I was still in my pajamas, I decided to let great grandma open her present from me. It is better to give than to receive!

Later that afternoon, we went over to the Sloan's house to visit with everyone. Daddy and I played air hockey with Cameron.

Christmas With My Buddy Sam....

Christmas came early today for me and my buddy Sam. Our moms decided to have a little gift exchange. We weren't quite sure what that meant, but knew it sounded like fun!

I loved my new "sippy cup" and bib. They have my name on them. I also got a bath time book and frog!

Oh What Fun....

Tonight daddy and I decided to hang out on the couch and watch some basketball. Daddy wanted me to wear my Santa hat. I tried to pull it off at first, but was soon distracted by the game. As you can see, I was captivated by the players dribbling the ball up and down the court.

As my eyes got bigger, my grip got tighter!

What A Pain......

Mommy took me to see Dr.Buck today. I finished the antibiotics for my second ear infection a couple of weeks ago, but have started pulling at my ears again. Mommy thought that it might be because I am teething but wanted to be sure since Christmas is only a week away and we will be driving to Houston for the holidays. Daddy surprised us at the office and the nurse put us in the Spurs room. After examining my ears Dr.Buck confirmed that my right one was infected. Daddy looked in it too and agreed. She gave us another prescription for antibiotics and said she wasn't worried at this point because she thinks I will grow out of getting these infections. I sure hope so!

I was so excited to see my daddy this morning that I making some new noises. I have been making an "sssss"sound for a couple of days, but today I was doing "k" and "g". I am anxious to start voicing my opinions!

Me and daddy are best buds:) I love to snuggle in his big, strong arms. He makes me feel so safe!

Lunch At Aunt Dian's.....

Aunt Dian invited us to lunch at her house to celebrate Jason (Petra's husband) and Jamye's birthdays which are both in December. Keira and Ezrie were nice enough to let me play with their toys.

I liked Keira's new rocking horse. I tugged on his mane until it stood straight up. Looks kind of like the hair-do mommy gave me the other day!

Hmmmm.......I think I need a tricycle!!!!

Keira's new leather chair was pretty comfy too! I could see myself watching football with daddy in one of these:)

Although the big toys were fun, I enjoyed engaging in some baby play with Ezrie.

Later that evening, Sam came over for a visit. We shared a toy and I kept trying to steal his pacifier. I have a bad habit of wanting other babies paci's now.

Ready to Rock!

This morning when I woke up, my hair was all messy. Oddly enough this reminded my mommy of a shirt she bought for me before I even arrived. She says she thought it was cute and had visions of me one day wearing it with my hair done in a punk rock-ish sort of way.

Later that evening we went to Mammacitas for dinner. They have a big fountain inside, at the front of the restaurant. I love to sit on the ledge and watch the water.

So Many Toys.....

Today we went shopping at Toys R Us for Christmas presents. There were so many fun looking toys that it was hard for me to focus on anything else.

Come on....you don't really expect me to look at the camera when you put me in front of all this stuff, do you?

The Weather Outside Is Frightful.....

This morning when we woke up it was very cold. What a difference from yesterday's 80 degree weather! We waited to get out thinking that maybe it would warm up a little by the afternoon, but no such luck. In fact, I think it may have gotten even colder! The light, misty rain that was falling only made matters worse. Mommy had to go to the post office to mail Christmas cards and then I was scheduled to see Dr. Young's nurse for my second flu shot:(

Dr. Young's office didn't have the shot I needed....No complaints here! His nurse still carried me around to show me off to the rest of the staff.

After a good nap my buddy Sam came by for a visit. He brought his dog Oliver who loves to lick my toes and make me laugh!

Sam bundled up to go home. I think he was sad to be leaving. I know I hate to say goodbye!

Sleepy Head......

This morning mommy had a doctors appointment so we had to leave the house rather early. I would normally fall asleep in the truck, but not today! I decided to skip my morning nap.

Daddy met us in the parking lot of the doctors office and took us to Chick-fil-A for an early lunch. I sat in a high chair at the table like a big boy. I was too tired to protest!

One of the nice workers there brought me a big, green balloon. I played with it for a while and was quite entertained until I turned my attention to the bunch of balloons tied to the counter behind our table.

I think I have had enough excitement for one day. Can I go home now and take a nap?

MOPS Monday....

Today is MOPS Monday.... Mommy lets me go to the nursery where I can play with other baby's my age.
Mommy picked me up early so I could watch all of the pre-schoolers sing Christmas songs for their parents.

Making A Mess.....

I had fun this morning making a mess in my room! I like to dump my toy box over and pull out everything I can get my hands on. I am well rested today. Mommy borrowed a book from her friend Meghan called Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child, and as you can see I am happy!

This is too much fun to be legal.......

Ezrie came over to play this afternoon. I was napping when she arrived, but was ready to join the party when I woke up!

Lunch At Chuy's...

After church, mommy and daddy took me to Chuy's Mexican Restaurant to eat lunch. I enjoyed the fun atmosphere. There were palm trees inside with coconuts hanging from them and some of the leafs even had iguanas!

Pulling Up.....

I have started to pull myself up to a standing position. I only do it in my room where my toy basket is just the right size for me to grab. Once I am standing I try to reach for a toy and fall back down. I guess I need a little more practice!

Tonight daddy went to work at the Big 12 conference championship game so mommy decided to have some friends over for dinner. Jamye and Keira, Anastasia and Ezrie, Petra and Megan, Mommy and me had a great time talking and playing. Of course I was the only boy, but I didn't mind. Mommy caught my mischievous face just before I took Ezrie's giraffe away.

What a fun group of girls......I was hiding behind Keira in this picture!
